Beginner Basic Course

Are you just getting started with your cycling career? In this course, you will learn the basics of mountain biking. You will practise in the skill centres, and then apply what you have learned on the trails.

What you will learn in this course

  • Tips for configuring brakes and seat and pedal positions
  • Correct position going uphill/downhill
  • How to braking and change gears correctly
  • Going uphill and starting off
  • Going downhill
  • Cornering techniques (steering, gravel turns)
  • Skill centre training
  • Final trip on simple trails to apply what you have learned

Course Hours
  • Morning: 9 am – 12 pm
  • Afternoon: 1 pm – 4 pm


Bookable daily, according to availability, minimum number of participants: 2 persons.

Bike equipment:

The following applies to our beginner basic course: the less suspension travel, the better you can improve your riding technique. Therefore a hardtail (front suspension only) is sufficient.

Depending on the weather:

  • Shorts/Pants
  • short/longsleeve jersey
  • helmet
  • knee and elbow protectors
  • full-fingered gloves
  • non-slip bike shoes
  • backpack with spare tube
  • rain jacket


We recommend to bring a snack (bars, etc.) and something to drink with you.
